Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information BI D'EAU Canada collects through bideaucanada.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for Quebec residents, with Law 25 (formerly Bill 64) and the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
What we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, email address, and anything you write to us in a form or email — including order numbers you choose to include.
- Newsletter subscriptions. Your email address, the date and time of your consent, and the wording you agreed to. We keep that record because Canadian anti-spam law requires us to prove consent.
- Referral and campaign data. If you arrive through a link containing a referral code (for example ?ref=NAME), we store that code in your browser's session storage so a resulting purchase can be credited to the creator or podcast whose link you used. This is not linked to your name and does not identify you to us.
- Technical data. Standard server logs and, if enabled, privacy-respecting analytics: pages viewed, approximate region, device type and referring site.
Why we collect it
- To answer your questions and provide support, including warranty and parts service.
- To send you emails you explicitly asked for — and nothing else.
- To measure whether our marketing, including creator and podcast campaigns, actually works.
- To meet legal, tax and consumer-protection obligations.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Ever.
Consent and email (CASL)
We only send commercial email to people who have given express consent — an unchecked box or a confirmed form submission — and every message includes a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing removes you from the list immediately and permanently. If you never subscribed and receive something from us, tell us and we will investigate how it happened.
Third parties we rely on
- Amazon.ca. Purchases happen on Amazon's platform under Amazon's own privacy policy. We receive aggregate sales reporting, not your personal purchase data beyond what Amazon makes available to sellers and Associates.
- Email delivery and hosting providers. Our newsletter tool and web host process data on our behalf under contract, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Analytics. If we use analytics, we configure it to avoid advertising identifiers wherever the platform allows.
How long we keep it
Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short period to honour the unsubscribe. Support correspondence is kept up to 24 months. Records needed for tax or warranty purposes are kept as long as the law requires, then destroyed.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. Quebec residents have additional rights under Law 25, including the right to data portability and the right to request that we stop disseminating personal information, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

Cookies and storage
This site uses browser session storage for two things: your language preference, and the referral code described above. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and it is cleared when your session ends. If we add analytics or advertising cookies later, we will ask for consent first in the regions that require it.
Security and incidents
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access to it is limited to the people who need it. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required — and we will tell you what happened in plain language.

By using bideaucanada.com you agree to these terms. The site is operated by BI D'EAU Canada, distributing to the Canadian market.
Information on this site
We work to keep product information, specifications and guidance accurate and current. Specifications may change without notice as the product is improved. Prices, availability and promotions are set and displayed by Amazon.ca on the listing page, and that listing — not this site — is the authoritative offer. Where this site and the listing disagree, the listing governs.
Safety and installation
Installation guidance is provided in good faith for a competent do-it-yourself installer using the parts supplied. A bidet seat connects to a pressurised water line and mains electricity. If you are not confident, use a licensed plumber and, where required, a licensed electrician. Follow your local plumbing code and provincial requirements. We are not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation, by modification of the unit, or by use of non-approved parts.
Warranty
The BI D'EAU seat carries a one-year warranty against manufacturing defects in parts and labour. It does not cover damage from freezing, water quality, misuse, or unauthorised repair. Statutory warranties — including the legal warranty of quality under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act and equivalent provincial consumer protection legislation elsewhere in Canada — apply in addition to and are not limited by this warranty.
Intellectual property
The BI D'EAU name, logo, photography, video, written guides and page design on this site are our property or used with permission, and may not be reproduced commercially without written consent. Creator partners may use the asset pack we supply for the agreed campaign.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Consumers retain all rights and protections available under the consumer protection legislation of their own province or territory.
Affiliate & advertising disclosure
BI D'EAU Canada participates in the Amazon Associates Program. When you follow a "Buy on Amazon.ca" link from this site and complete a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission. This costs you nothing extra and does not change the price you pay.
Some of the recommendations and guides on this site concern our own product, which we obviously have a commercial interest in. Where we compare categories or explain trade-offs, we try to be accurate and to say plainly when something is a limitation — including cases where we tell you a bidet seat is not the right product for your bathroom. If you spot something that looks overstated, tell us and we will correct it.
All paid creator and podcast partnerships are disclosed by those partners on their own channels, as required by Canadian Competition Bureau guidance on influencer marketing.
Accessibility statement
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That means readable contrast, text that resizes without breaking the layout, keyboard-operable navigation and controls, meaningful alternative text on images, and form fields with real labels rather than placeholder text alone.
This site is built with semantic HTML, respects the prefers-reduced-motion setting, and avoids motion that cannot be paused or disabled.
